Gluten-free faves around town

Gluten-free food options in restaurants tend to be scarce. Very rarely are there many GF choices on the menu, but when there is an entire gluten-free menu, you know you are in for a real treat!  When I heard that Black Rock Social House, located at 2895 Fairfield Ave on the Fairfield border in Bridgeport, was an all gluten-free establishment, I was all in!

Black Rock Social House has an amazing selection of food for everyone. They never fail to impress me with their consistency and tastiness. A unique feature of this restaurant is that they have a special rotating menu featuring cuisine and dessert from a different country each month. I have sampled foods there from Japan, Germany, Thailand and Israel.

Some of my favorite selections on their regular menu include, the KFC-Yangnyeon, which are fried chicken bites with a dakgangjeong sauce. The sauce has a spicy forefront with a sweet afternote. The Crispy Yukon Potatoes is also a great appetizer choice because the spice and sauces on it are really yummy. My go-to entree is the Social House Burger, which is a normal hamburger cooked to perfection. The house-made fettuccine primavera is also an excellent choice.

The interior is a great space with a big bar in the center and they have outdoor seating along the side of the restaurant. They have a full bar and an amazing selection of cocktails (according to my mother!).

So, if you are in the mood for a trip out of Westport and some samplings of food out of this country, or you just want a good gluten-free meal, I think Black Rock Social house is the place to go!
